4D Technologies leverages K-TEK Solutions' consultants, who provide product expertise and portions of the "learning" content. K-TEK services to 4D Technologies include both helping create new CAD Learning content, and assisting 4D to update existing CAD Learning tutorials to reflect the latest features and functions of Autodesk's products.

One of the many projects delivered to Autodesk by K-TEK consultants was the Autodesk Implementation Expert Program (AIEP). We served as trainers and subject matter experts on AIEP, providing content for all elements of this project, including the consultative methodology, the Civil 3D proficiency model, the delivery toolkit, and the overall program design. The audience was Autodesk Technical Specialists and Channel Partners. The result was what one reseller trainee described as “one of the best, if not the best training I have ever gotten from Autodesk”.

K-TEK continues to provide subject matter expertise to Autodesk: Simulation, Plant 3D, Construction, Civil Engineering, and Drawing Management using Autodesk Vault.

We are currently delivering the CAD Modernization Project for the LADOT, City of Los Angeles Department of Transportation, an organization that realized it needed to move their CAD operation into the 21st century.

The DOT commissioned the initiative partly because they were using several different versions of AutoCAD® -- going back to AutoCAD® 2005.  LADOT had identified that they lacked standards and documented processes. They realized that they needed to upgrade to the latest versions of software and standardize.  K-TEK recommended a phased approach.  We offered short-term initiatives that addressed standardization of processes and tools and improved consistency of drafting skills, and we also offered medium- to long-term initiatives to further increase team productivity and open up entirely new capabilities for making their CAD drawings more “data rich”.

With help from K-TEK Solutions, BOR's Pacific Northwest design managers chose and implemented Autodesk civil engineering solutions to streamline their design processes. Engineers can now code and label information consistently across disciplines, making it easier for team members to use and find information without tedious intermediate steps. Information flow is now so efficient that freshly gathered survey data can be entered into design applications directly from the survey field gear. The standardization and smooth data flow enabled by Autodesk solutions have also made it easier for Reclamation's design teams to work with outside engineers and surveyors.
